2013 Year in Review
As we end 2013 and look toward 2014 I would like to thank our entire staff for all the hard work making this year a success in so many ways.
A great company starts with a great team of people and that is exactly what we have at Ener-Tel.
This was most evident last April when the fertilizer plant in West, Texas tragically exploded. A town was leveled and families displaced. There was an immediate need for water, medical supplies, toiletries, and other items. After calling around and noticing a lack of donation centers in San Angelo, one of our employees had an idea. Rachel Lambert, our marketing director, suggested that we use our training center as a drop-off location for donated supplies. Within minutes of her posting this on Facebook and coordinating with the local Red Cross, we had people dropping off water, clothes, and other much needed supplies at our warehouse. Within the hour the news media was at our facility to help get the word out. This was one person’s call to action and the next thing you know we had employees helping load a semi-truck to send these needed supplies to West. (Thank you to Nick at Lone Star Moving for being so generous with your truck and your time!)
This is just one example of teamwork.
It’s not uncommon to find 10 or 12 of our folks (from different departments) having lunch together on any given week day. This isn’t a company requirement. Our employees do this on their own because (get this…) they genuinely enjoy the people they work with, and have pride in the company they work for.
I think customers pick up on this type of synergy. We’re excited about what’s happening at Ener-Tel, and our customers enjoy that atmosphere. In fact, I think that positive energy is one of the factors that has propelled us to our spot as the premier security company in West Texas.
In November, I attended Honeywell’s National Convention in Los Angeles. Over 1,000 Honeywell security dealers from all across the country were in attendance. We were one of nine of those dealers to receive the Dealer of the Year award for sales performance. I’ll be honest, I was delighted to win that award… Why? Because it means that our employees are out there finding solutions for customers at a record pace. But also — it is a reflection of how our customers put their trust in us every day to provide them with security for their home and business. And for that, we say,
