Garage Door Protection
Picture this. You’ve left the house in the morning, and just as you pull up to the office, that feeling hits. Did I close the garage?
Leaving your garage door open is like asking people to take your stuff. Your lawn mower, a (likely unlocked) car, electronics, power tools, seasonal decorations… Your garage has turned from a safe place to store your posessions into a free-for-all in one moment of forgetfulness.
You’re already going to great lengths to protect your home. To help secure this vulnerable point, Ener–Tel offers garage door protection devices, which detect when the garage door is open. As a part of our home automation package, the garage door sensors can tell if the garage door is open or closed, and send an alert to your phone reporting that status. Knowing your home is secure is much better than hoping your home is secure. Of course, you could always take it a step further: integrating the sensor into your home automation gives you the ability to automatically close the garage door after arming your system.
With Ener-Tel, you can close your garage door locally and remotely or schedule the doors to close at a certain time of the day or night. For example, every night at 11:00 p.m. — so you can rest assured, knowing that the door will not remain open all night long. You can also schedule the door to close after a set period of time, for example, 30 minutes after the door is opened. This enables you to drive away with the comfort of knowing that even if you left the door open, it will be closing soon.
Finally, if you arm your system with the garage door open, it will automatically become part of the protected area when it’s closed. This holds true whether it’s closed according to a schedule or manually, and regardless of whether it’s done locally or remotely.
Now, picture this. You’ve left the house in the morning, and just as you pull up to the office, that feeling hits. Did I close the garage? No. You didn’t. But don’t worry. With home automation from Ener–Tel, it closed itself.
